NATURAL TIPS FOR HEALTHY HAIR

For Dandruff
Massage the Scalp with pure coconut oil. This will also help for growth of hair.
Apply coconut oil which has been boiled with small onions. Wash it off with a mixture of green gram powder and water drained from cooked (boiled) rice.
Apply a mixture of almond oil and gooseberry juice with finger tips on the scalp.
Apply the warm mixture of olive oil, lemon juice and coconut oil. Do a steam -towel- wrap for 15 minutes and wash the hair with a shampoo.
Apply a paste of fenugreek and mustard to the scalp.
Mix Shikakai powder with the water drained from the cooked rice and wash the hair with it.
Crush the leaves of five petal hibiscus flower and take the juice. Wash the hair with this juice.
Heat the oil with a little camphor. Apply the oil in the scalp and massage for 10 minutes. After 30 minutes wash the hair with a herbal shampoo. Do the steam -towel- wrap for 15 minutes.
For Healthy and Shiny hair
It is better to apply castor oil for a healthy growth of hair.
Wash hair with tea once in a week.
Apply besan in the hair and wash it with water drained from the cooked rice.
Soak a handful of gooseberry in a cup of milk for two hours. Make it as a paste and apply in the hair.
Apply the mixture of an egg white, 2 spoon of castor oil, 1 spoon glycerin, in the scalp and hair. Wash it after some time.
Massage hair with warm coconut oil an hour before washing. Let it soak. Cover your head with a hot towel and wash your hair after an hour or so.
Boil a few hibiscus flowers in coconut oil. Filter and use this hair oil to control hair loss and thinning.
Do a 'steam-towel-wrap' once in a while, if your cuticles are damaged, as this steaming opens out the pores and absorbs the oil.
Deep condition with curd, beer and egg.
Mix a little vinegar in warm water and rinse your hair with this solution. This will add bounce to dull and lifeless hair.
Soak 1 teaspoon fenugreek in curd and keep it for a night. Have it in the next morning.
Boil coconut oil with the juices of curry leaves, basil, hibiscus flower and gooseberry. Apply on hair, keep it for sometime and rinse.
Egg white and curd is a good conditioner for hair.
Take a cup of coconut and mustard oils. Soak half a cup of curry leaves in the oil mixture and keep it for a night. Next morning, heat on a slow fire till the curry leaves turn crisp. Remove from heat and add two to three camphor balls. Allow oil to cool and then strain. Apply oil to hair roots using cotton wool along the parting and massage in circular movements. Leave the oil overnight and shampoo the next morning. Repeat twice a week.
Add a lemon peel to a 'shikakai' and 'amla' mixture while washing your hair.
For Graying
Take a little Mehandi , an egg, juice of half a lemon, one table spoon of instant coffee powder. Mix it together and apply on the hair. Wash it after 45 minutes.
Boil one cup of dried gooseberry with 4 cups of water. Add a pinch of sugar in it. Keep boiling till the quantity of the liquid reduces to one cup. Mix 2 cups of Mehendi, an egg, juice of a lemon and the gooseberry solution and apply on hair. Wash the hair after two hours.

Ayurvedic Hair Care

No matter what type of hair nature blessed you with, there are things you can do to keep it healthy, lustrous, looking its best. Here are some tips for a healthy head of hair from the tradition of ayurveda, the 5,000-year old system of holistic healing that originated in India:
106715_610x125 - DrJays.com Sale
  • Like everything else about true, lasting beauty, healthy hair begins within your body. Start with your diet. Include lots of green leafy vegetables and sweet juicy fruits. Dairy products such as milk and fresh yogurt will also help. Fresh coconut is also considered excellent "hair food" -- sprinkle grated coconut over salads, diced fresh fruit, or rice.

  • Cut down on refined, processed and canned foods. Ayurveda considers foods with artificial preservatives and chemical additives stripped of their inherent "intelligence" and therefore not helpful in supplying nutrition to your body and mind. Ice-cold beverages also hamper the process of digestion and assimilation of nutrients.

  • Cooking with certain spices adds flavor to your food and provides nourishment for your hair. Cumin, turmeric and black pepper are some "hair-friendly" spices. Add a healthy pinch of each to single-portion soups and stews as they are cooking. Sauté 1/8 -1/4 teaspoon each of the three spices in a teaspoon of ghee (clarified butter) or olive oil and add to cooked veggies. Roasted ground cumin and ground black pepper can be sprinkled over fresh yogurt.

  • Stress can be seriously injurious to long-term health and color of hair. Try and manage your time and tasks to minimize time-related pressures. Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation. Seek out tranquil sights in nature to help restore balance to your mind. Relaxing or uplifting music can be therapeutic. Get adequate, good quality sleep to help the natural process of rejuvenation.

  • Ayurvedic herbs that help hair health include Eclipta alba and Gotu Kola. Eclipta alba is called "Bhringaraj" -- literally, king of tresses. It nourishes the hair and helps resistance to stress as well. Brahmi, sometimes called Gotu Kola, also helps balance the mind and nourishes the hair and scalp. Since Ayurveda considers the health, color and luster of hair so dependent on overall mind/body health, synergistic Ayurvedic herbal preparations for hair can also include herbs such as Country Mallow, which is supposed to strengthen the physiology, and Winter Cherry, which aids resistance to stress.

    506073_HOLIDAY2012
  • Stay away from harsh chemical topical products that can damage hair over time. Look for gentle, natural cleansers and conditioners, especially if you wash your hair more than three times a week. Shampoos and conditioners that contain nourishing botanicals are even better. Read labels carefully -- sometimes, products that say "herbal" or "natural" can include no-no chemicals.

  • A warm oil scalp massage two or three times a week will help stimulate and moisturize the scalp. You can use good quality coconut, almond or olive oil. Ayurvedic hair oils also contain some of the herbs mentioned earlier. Apply some mildly warmed oil to your hair and gently massage into your scalp evenly with your fingertips. Leave on overnight if you can, if not, leave on for at least an hour or two, then get it out by shampooing your hair. The scalp massage helps you relax and aids sound sleep as well.

  • Never attack wet hair with a brush, no matter how rushed for time you are. Tangles in wet hair are best removed with a wide-toothed comb. Use a wooden comb if you can find one; it won't generate static electricity. Excessive blow-drying can damage hair in the long-term, making it brittle and causing split ends. If you can, let your hair dry naturally, then brush into place.

  • Last, but not least, brushing your hair regularly to stimulate the scalp will keep it looking healthy and lustrous. Brush each night in all directions in turn -- left to right, right to left, front to back and back to front. Use smooth long strokes from scalp to hairtips.

Your hair can indeed be your crowning glory if you treat it right!

Tips For Moisturizing Dry Hair | Natural Hair Care

  H2O + Logo (468x60)
DrJays.com LogoDry curly hair, especially dry African-American curly hair, is normal! Our hair is naturally curly, coarse and dry, it's just how it grows out of our heads. With straight hair, it's easy for the natural oils to travel down the hair shaft, keeping it moisturized. But with curly, coily hair, it's a lot harder for the oils to navigate, which causes the hair to remain dry, especially towards the ends. So don't assume that because your hair is dry, it's always an indication of how well you care for your hair, or signs of neglect.
278008_Soap.com Brand Logo
Most of the time it's just a characteristic of our hair! I can moisturize the heck out of my hair and still have it be dry by the end of
the day.

With that being said, there are ways that we can return the moisture to our hair! There are solutions, but know that they wont be permanent. Since our hair is naturally dry, you'll need to repeat these processes daily and weekly in order for your hair to remain moisturized. Similar to drinking water to keep hydrated, and plants that need to be watered every single day, our hair needs the same treatment or it will return to it's natural dry state.

Personally, my hair is really thirsty and get's dry really fast. In order to keep my hair moisturized I do the following "regimen." I'm not perfect in doing the same thing every single month, but I always do some variation of the following:
CosmeticAmerica.com - Up to 70% OFF on skincare, makeup & fragrances.

Daily Moisture Treatments:

One of the most simple solutions to combating dry hair on a daily basis is to apply water on your hair day and night. In my experience, it's not enough to just apply products or oils to your dry hair, it needs water first. The water is the moisture, while the oils and products are what seals the moisture in.

Luxirie by LRG LUXIRIE HEART CANVAS BAG Original Price: $29.00 Current Price: $12.99I fill my spray bottle with two-thirds water and one-third aloe vera juice. Then give my hair a light spritz every morning and night, just enough to penetrate my strands, but not enough to make my hair soaking wet, so it doesn't ruin my style. I add the aloe vera juice because of it's amazing healing properties. It also helps to ease frizz and calms the ends of your hair.
H2O + Logo (100x100)After lightly spritzing with water, follow up with a bit of your favorite oil-based hair product to seal the moisture in. My favorite sealing product is my homemade shea butter cream.
Mecca Jackson midtop sneaker Original Price: $54.00 Sale Price: $14.99

This method works well on any style you're wearing: wash and go, twist out, bantu knot out, etc.. The only style you won't want to do this to is a silky, smooth flat- ironed style,

Weekly Moisture Treatments:

Once-per-week or once-every-two-weeks, a deep conditioning treatment is really helpful. Two of my favorite deep conditioning treatments are my Homemade Mayo Deep Conditioner and my Homemade Greek Yogurt Deep Conditioner, both uploaded to my Naptural85 Youtube Channel. They're both packed with protein, so they're extremely helpful in helping to strengthen your strands.
Up to 80% off brand name skincare cosmetic
Give them a try if you're not protein sensitive! Otherwise, use any deep conditioner of your choice at least once per week in order to infuse moisture and beneficial minerals and vitamins to your hair.

After your deep conditioning treatment, while your hair is wet, be sure to seal in the moisture with your favorite oil-based hair product.
H2O + Logo (468x60)
Anytime Moisture Treatments:

"Water Bagging"
If you're hanging around the house with nothing to do, why not condition your hair! A really quick way to infuse moisture into your hair without a lot of fuss, is to "water bag".
Spritz your hair with water (and aloe vera juice if you like) and throw on a plastic cap! Keep it on for as long as you want. You can even sleep with it on if you want to! When you take the plastic cap off, your hair will be extremely soft, and the best part, there's nothing to wash out! Just follow up with your favorite oil-based hair product to seal the moisture in.
"Conditioning on The Go"
So that's basically all I do to retain the moisture in my hair. Again, my hair is naturally very dry, but these simple daily and weekly treatments really help me maintain the moisture. There's a lot of products out there that promise to help you retain your moisture, but for me, water, shea butter, and various oils has done wonders for the structure of my strands.

Again, not everyone's hair is the same, but I believe that water is the best moisturizer you can use. I think what makes the difference is the product that you use to seal the water in. If your hair has a looser curl pattern, you can get away with lighter products to seal the moisture in, like light oils. But if you have a tighter curl pattern, you'll want to stick to heavier creamier products, like butters (shea, mango, etc…) to really help the hair absorb the moisture.

So I hope this post helped guys! Have a great week and I'll talk to you soon!

5 Tips to Have Naturally Growing Healthy Beautiful Hair

FARGO – Winter hair woes can take many forms.
There are the static-y strands that stick out like Medusa’s mane and the dry, lackluster locks that refuse to hold a style.

Luxirie by LRG LUXIRIE HEART CANVAS BAG Original Price: $29.00 Current Price: $12.99
And, of course, the dreaded hat head.
But there is hope. Here are five tips for taming worrisome winter hair.
1. Moisturize
Avon’s Advance Techniques Moroccan Argan Oil Leave-In Treatment is my new favorite hair product.
I’m very hard on my hair. I wash it every day, dry and curl it almost every day and have it highlighted two or three times a year. Left alone, my tresses have a tendency to be dull and frizzy, but the Moroccan Argan Oil leaves my hair looking and feeling smooth, shiny and healthy.
It sells for $12 for 2 ounces, but a little bit goes a long way, and Avon often offers deals and specials on the product.

2. Chelate your hair
While I’m a big fan of Argan oil, it is possible to get too much of a good thing. Hair-care advocate Audrey Davis-Sivasothy says products containing oils, conditioners, serums and pomades might make you feel better in the short term, but they can build up and prevent your hair’s ability to hydrate over time.

170579_Bridal BannersUp to 80% off brand name skincare cosmeticTo remedy the situation, she suggests detoxing hair by using a chelating shampoo. It works by lifting stubborn buildup from products and hard water, she said, adding that clarifying shampoos are a good substitute when chelating shampoos are not available.

After chelating, deep condition your hair for 10 to 15 minutes. And to go the extra mile, Davis-Sivasothy suggests using an apple cider vinegar rinse to close the cuticle and enhance your hair’s shine.

3. Brush your hair – but not when wet
Philip B., a hair treatment expert with his own line of hair care products, says a good brushing is an exfoliation treatment for your scalp.
506073_HOLIDAY2012278008_Soap.com Brand LogoIt stimulates cell turnover to make your hair stronger and healthier, drags the natural conditioning oils from your scalp to your ends to keep them shiny and moisturized and buffs the hair cuticle to boost overall glossiness, he said. He recommends using a pure boar bristle brush if you have fine, wispy hair or a brush that combines natural boar’s hair and nylon bristle if your hair is normal to thick.
Don’t brush your hair if it’s wet, $15 OFF Coupon Code: GA15though. Philip B. says hair is weaker and more elastic when wet, so brushing it can lead to breakage and split ends. Instead, comb wet hair and brush when it’s dry.

4. Bounce your hair
For dry, static-y hair, WebMD suggests rubbing a fabric softening dryer sheet like Bounce lightly on your hair to remove static and every time you put on hand cream, scrunch some on the ends of your hair.

5. Loosen that hat
To avoid hat head, Philip B. says to make sure your hat isn’t too tight. Before donning your hat, make sure your hair is completely dry and cool, he says.
For long, wavy hair, Philip B. suggests coiling it on top of your head before putting your hat on. When you take it off, refresh your roots with dry shampoo and run your hands through it to fluff it up.
For short hair, Philip B. says to rough up your hair with your fingertips as soon as you take off your hat. Use dry shampoo to add instant volume or a dab of texturizing pomade to revive and define choppy layers.

For a flat, straight look, Philip B. says to part your hair in the middle and smooth it into a low ponytail before pulling on your hat. When you take it off, let your hair down and smooth it out with your hands.

Natural Hair Care tips for Winter

H2O + Logo (468x60)Having beautiful hair is something that all women want. Using certain synthetic chemicals will damage your hair and dry it out, so it is important to find something natural that will help you. Here are just three tips of hair care using natural ingredients

506073_HOLIDAY2012
Avoid Washing Too Regularly

One of the worst things that you can do, whether you have oily or dry hair, is wash it too often. You should avoid washing your hair every day if you can. Of course, activities such as swimming may stop that from being possible. If you have oily hair, then wash it every other day. This will give the natural oils chance to develop but will prevent your hair becoming overly oily. If you have dry hair, you may want to cut it down to washing your hair just once or twice a week. This will give the natural oils a chance to disperse through your hair.

Tips of hair care if you swim regularly: Wet your hair before getting in the pool. This means that your hair is able to soak up water and will not take on as much chlorine, which will damage your hair. Wear a swimming cap to avoid the chlorine or wash and condition your hair as soon as you have finished.

Natural Dye for Hair

While you may want your hair to look bright and glamorous, dyeing your hair will damage it. To get the sun-kissed look in the summer, opt for some diluted lemon juice on your hair. Put it in a spray bottle and just spray it on your head. Spend some time out in the sun, but avoid spending too much time. One of the best tips of hair care you can get is to avoid the sun for too long. It will start to dry out your hair and damage it, let alone what the rays will do to your skin.

Change Your Diet

If you don't already eat in a healthful manner, then one of the best tips of hair care that you can get is to change your diet. Healthy foods are full of the nutrients that your hair and skin need. This will help maintain your hair's glow.

H2O + Logo (468x60)

Plenty of water is something else that you should concentrate on. This will naturally help to hydrate your skin, which will help with your scalp. A well-hydrated scalp will reduce flaking and will keep your hair looking and feeling great.
